Our history

A journey of care since 1999.

Navadarsanagram Psychosocial Development Society is a dedicated institution committed to fostering holistic mental health, social well-being, and personal growth through expert counseling and comprehensive psychosocial interventions.

Established on September 26, 1999, at Puliyanmala in Idukki district, under the leadership of CMI St. Joseph Province, Kottayam, the late Rev. Fr. Joseph Valiyathazhathe was its Founder Director.

The society aims to empower individuals and strengthen communities by actively organizing awareness campaigns and outreach programs that build emotional resilience and promote positive lifestyle changes. Since 2002, the organization has been formally registered and functioning as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

A major activity

A compassionate space for recovery.

As a major activity under this society, Navadarsanagram De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Center provides specialized care, evidence-based therapy, and compassionate support to help individuals overcome addiction and smoothly reintegrate into society.

From 2008 to 2021, it functioned as an Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), a project supported by the Central Government. By combining professional psychological care with structured rehabilitation programs, the institution strives to create a compassionate space where every individual can reclaim their potential and lead a balanced, fulfilling life.

Since 2022, the center has been functioning with certifications from the Kerala State Mental Health Authority and the Orphanage Control Board of Kerala. Over the years, tens of thousands of families have benefited from the care and treatment provided here, successfully building and sustaining a healthy, sober life.
